Fallout

Found this on the side of Mackin Elem. School in Wilkes Barre. A school I attended from k-3rd grade in the late 1950's. Glad to know that I was safe from radioactive debris while attending.
Wonder if the shelter is still there?

Festival of the Photograph 2007

Not sure why I never posted these. Anyway here are two photographers that I admire. Eugene Richards and William Albert Allard. They spoke last summer in Charlottesville at the Festival of the Photograph. An event that is well worth attending.

Moments 3.9.08

Be quiet before speaking, Read. Walk around. Learn the names of words. Take them home. Study their shapes, the feel on the tongue. Write. Walk around and write. Read aloud the written words. Read them under bridges loud enough to penetrate the concrete and steel above in a neutron voice blast. Read them in public. Make the Exit sign listen. Go home empty of words. Start over.

This season's hit, "Everday People Doing Ordinary Things," is the critics darling. "I can take my kids to it," raves www.motherswithkidsin strollers.com. "It's Main Street for the mainstream," says a guy with his hat on backwards. "The parade, the cars, the candy tossed from floats, I'm getting my seat on the curb early," promises a fan of the annual event. Bring the family and celebrate a tradition.
